Week 4: Configuring Citrix Workspace

Happy Tech Tuesday! This week, we go over Configuring Citrix Workspace.

 

A question we often get, especially for staff using interview computers, is “How do I get to Citrix?”  This document will guide you through the steps of running and configuring Citrix Workspace so you can get right to work.

This will be of most use to you when using an interview room computer that you have not used before. More than likely, when you first login to the computer, you will need to configure Citrix Workspace to connect to the cloud services. Generally, the application will already be installed as part of the initial workstation configuration process, however you may be required to update and/or reconfigure your Citrix Workspace and this document will show you how to do it.

 

Download and Install Citrix Workspace

If your workstation does not have Citrix installed, you will need to download and install the application. This section will walk you through the download and installation process of Citrix Workspace.

  1. Open Chrome and browse to the following webpage:
  2. On the Citrix Workspace download page, click the Download Citrix Workspace app for Windows button.
  3. After the CitrixWorkspaceApp installer downloads, you can run it directly from Chrome by clicking the file you just downloaded.
  4. On the Welcome to Citrix Workspace window, click Start to begin the installation.
  5. Accept the license agreement.
    1. Click the check box next to I accept the license agreement.
    2. Click Next.
  6. Click Next on the Enable Single Sign-on window.
  7. Click Install on the App protection screen to install Citrix Workspace.
  8. Citrix Workspace will take a minute to install.
  9. Once the installation is successful, click Add Account to begin adding your Wheeler account.

 

Adding Your Wheeler Account

  1. Configure the Cloud server.
    1. In the server box, type the following: cloud.wheelercpa.com
    2. Click Continue.
  2. The first of two Citrix Workspace credentials windows will pop up.
    1. Type in your Wheeler username (first.last eg. michael.montgomery) and your Wheeler password.
    2. Click Sign In to begin the process of signing into Citrix.
  3. The second Citrix Workspace credentials window will pop up.
    1. Type in your Wheeler username (wheeler\first.last eg. wheeler\michael.montgomery) and your Wheeler password again.
    2. Click the checkbox next to Remember my password.
    3. Click the Log On button to complete the Citrix sign-in process.

 

Configure Citrix Workspace

In order to properly connect to your Cloud-based applications, you will need to have Citrix Workspace configured for the Wheeler cloud. In this section, you will add Citrix applications to your FAVORITES tab for ease of use.

  1. After the Citrix StoreFront window opens, click the APPS button at the top to switch to your APPS tab.
  2. Select the details of an application.
    1. Scroll down to your most-used application.
    2. Click Details next to the application.
  3. When the details are open, click Add To Favorites to add to your FAVORITES tab.
  4. Check your FAVORITES tab.
    1. Click the FAVORITES button to switch back to your FAVORITES tab.
    2. Your application should show up in the FAVORITES tab.
  5. Continue to use Steps 1 – 4 in this section to fill out your FAVORITES tab with the applications that you use the most.
