Happy Tech Tuesday! Today, we go over Configuring Audio Devices in Microsoft Teams.
As we do more and more conference calls and meetings via Microsoft Teams, making sure that you are able to be completely involved in these meetings requires that your audio be configured properly. On occasion, you may find that Teams is not working through the correct audio device, whether it be your headset, external speakers, webcam microphone, or just your internal computer speakers and microphone.
This document will walk you through configuring your audio devices in Microsoft Teams so that you are able to have complete participation in Teams meetings.
Configuring Audio Devices in Microsoft Teams
The settings for audio devices in Teams can be found in Teams settings.
- In the Microsoft Teams window, click your user icon in the top-right of the window.
- In the dropdown menu, click Settings to open Teams settings.
- Click Devices tab to switch to the Devices menu.
- To change the Speaker device:
- Click the dropdown arrow next to the current Speaker device.
- Select the appropriate Speaker device from the list.
- To change the Microphone device:
- Click the dropdown arrow next to the current Microphone device.
- Select the appropriate Microphone device from the list.
- Once you have selected the devices you wish to use for Teams, you can close the Teams settings window by clicking the X at the top-right corner of the window.
- Microsoft Teams will now use the audio device(s) that you have selected.
