Week 15: Terminating a Citrix Application

Happy Tech Tuesday! This week, we go over Terminating a Citrix Application.

As we use the cloud for so much of our work, we will occasionally run into a situation where we need to forcefully close an application for one reason or another. When an application locks up, for instance, it can be frustrating to restart your computer and have the problem persist. This week’s guide will empower you to terminate the application and allow you to re-open it without issues.

Terminating a Citrix Application

1. Find the Citrix Workspace icon.
   1. Click the arrow on the right-hand side of the Windows taskbar (next to the clock).
   2. Find the Citrix Workspace icon.
      
2. Open Citrix Connection Center.
   1. Right-click the Citrix Workspace icon.
   2. Click Connection Center in the menu.
      
3. Terminate the application.
   1. Select the application to be terminated.
   2. Click Terminate.
      
4. A window will pop-up asking if you are sure you want to terminate the application. Click Yes to confirm and terminate the application.
   
5. The application will be terminated and will no longer be showing up in the Citrix Connection Center. You can close the Citrix Connection Center and are now able to open the terminated application from Citrix Workspace again if you wish.
